  • Technical Hiring: on 3 hiring process committees for professional level technical positions. I provided opinions, interviewing tactics, ideas, and advisement on where the job should lead and who best could fill it.
  • Procurement: technical goods and services via a third party in order to complete project requirements and guarantee enhanced relations for the future; One yearly budget that I helped manage was in excess of $50,000
  • Inventory management: hardware and software throughout a 40 user office

Manage, upgrade, engineer, and administer current and future UMBC Graduate School information systems, business processes, department IT needs, and user IT needs. The role involves working with 200+ fellow workers, supporting 30+ departmental workers, 2000+ applicants (customers), ~20 major integrated systems, and an application system that costs $50,000+ per year to run.

  • Imaging Server Upgrade - Customized Linux software and hardware were upgraded to meet a set of primary goals; The project spanned 12 months, 200+ users, 30+ departments, and 600 gigs of mission critical NPI data was migrated
  • Data Migration Automation - Online applicants to the UMBC Graduate School are imported on a daily basis into our customized internal imaging system (ParaDocs). I presented on this topic at a national conference.
  • Technical Documentation Wiki - An online, editable, documentation website. Technical documentation, procedures, projects, discussions, notes, etc. to be shared with administrative users of the UMBC Graduate School’s various technical outlets.
  • Faculty Database Upgrade - Requirements analysis, data architecture, implementation planning, and actual implementation of a project to upgrade a MS Access database → Oracle to allow its contents to be read in real time by a webpage
  • Inventory Upgrade - Upgrade and complete reinstallation of the entire Graduate School computer fleet; Over 30 computers were meticulously cleaned, swapped around, upgraded, and OS‘s reinstalled
